Tis the Season to Celebrate

Thanksgiving week and I have so much to be thankful for! I am far away from home and my family that I love and I miss them! But God has given me the blessing of a family here who love me. So for this Thanksgiving week I want to share some of the things I am thankful for.

My family in the US who love me and although they miss me, and I miss them so much, they understand and so do I that this is where I am supposed to be.

My family and friends here who love me and make sure I am well taken care of --- I know if I need help with anything, they are here!

Two precious little boys who call me Jaaja (grandma) who feel free to walk in my door anytime and who love me and bring so much joy into my life.

A ministry that keeps me busy and sometimes tired. It is a good busy and a good tired. Working with the youth, the women, and the school children is rewarding and not only does it keep me busy but it keeps me fulfilled. At my age to have this kind of "busy" is truly a huge blessing.

Looking back over the past several years and see all that God has done. He has taken us so far and we all know He isn't finished yet. The school that started with just 29 pre-school students and now has over 200. The students who have been there from the beginning and now we are getting ready to graduate our second class of 7th graders.

Philip McQueen in the US who works to keep this ministry going, raising the financial needs.

The joy God has given me in this work!

Thanksgiving in Tororo Uganda is different, no turkey, no dressing, none of the typical foods we American's love to eat on this holiday. But we have made a tradition of getting together, eating some good food, and sharing the things we are most thankful for this past year. My Ugandan friends have made this an annual tradition and it is wonderful! This year we will have a party with around 40 women plus the family here.

I have much to be thankful for and I hope and pray that everyone who reads this blog takes time to be thankful to God for all He has done. Happy Thanksgiving and God bless you! 1Thessalonians 5:16-18 Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances for this is the will of God for you in Christ Jesus.
